Bali to Tokyo Daily with Garuda Indonesia

Indonesia’s national flag carrier – Garuda Indonesia (GIA), will increase to daily the frequency of flights connecting Narita Airport in Japan and Denpasar, Bali, starting from Sunday, 29 October 2023.

Garuda Indonesia now flies five times weekly between Narita and Denpasar, Bali.

The CEO of GIA, Irfan Setiaputra, confirmed the increased frequency and seat capacity between Bali and Japan when speaking to Kompas.com on Friday, 13 October 2023.

The flying time between Narita Airport and Ngurah Rai International Airport is seven hours and thirty minutes. The flight Denpasar to Narita departs at around midnight, landing in Tokyo at 8:40 a.m.. The return flight leaves Tokyo Narita at 11:00 a.m., landing in Bali at around 5:30 p.m..

Garuda added two more weekly flights on the route because of the rapid travel market recovery underway between Japan and Indonesia. The general manager for Garuda Indonesia in Japan, Sonny Syahlan, told the State News Agency Antara: “We are, of course, supporting and preparing to accommodate the growing travel demand by increasing frequencies so that more Japanese tourists go on trips to Indonesia, especially to Bali.” 

Garuda targets average load factors of 70-80% on the Bali-Japan flights. “With daily flights, Japanese travelers can stay three or four nights in Bali.”
