As part of a regular program of ministerial monitoring and guidance, PT Bali Turtle Island Development (BTID)/ Kura-Kura received a visit from the Directorate General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Supervision (Ditjen PSDKP) of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) at Serangan Island on Thursday, 07 May 2026.
As reported by Radarbali.com, officials from the Ministry carefully evaluated BTID’s space utilization activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and all administrative documents agreed upon by the development company and the Ministry.
BTID’s management is pleased to report that no significant failures or shortcomings were identified in the audit by the Directorate General of PSDKP on matters related to general marine space utilization regulations.
The audit was not related to the ongoing development of an international marina at Turtle Island.
During the visit, Sumono Darwinto, the Director of Marine Resources Supervision at the Directorate General of PSDKP, emphasized that his team’s evaluation aimed to ensure that all business actors comply with existing regulations. Adding that any violations and shortcomings identified would be promptly followed up on, either through administrative sanctions or mandated remedial measures as part of the improvement process.

”The government strongly supports investment, especially in tourism areas. However, such investment must comply with existing regulations and maintain the sustainability of marine and fishery resources,” said Sumono Darwinto.
Responding to the most recent evaluation results, Kundarso, Head of Licensing and Regulation at BTID, emphasized the company’s full commitment to regulatory compliance. He stated that BTID is committed to implementing all findings and recommendations from the PSDKP team, including improving permits related to coastal area utilization.
This stance absolutely demonstrates the company’s unwavering commitment to maintaining operational standards in the Kura Kura project area. Moreover, as a concrete step to maintain ecosystem balance, BTID is proactively implementing a sustainable environmental restoration program. To date, the company has carried out restoration by planting 700,000 trees and mangrove seedlings.

Demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability, BTID has planted 700,000 plus seedlings in the area over the past decade.
In response, Sumono Darminto expressed his department’s appreciation for the company’s cooperative attitude, which demonstrates a positive sign for maintaining a responsible tourism investment climate.
”One of the possible sanctions could be restitution. BTID has already started planting (mangroves). That’s positive progress, a positive step, I think,” Sumono continued.
Through such collaborative efforts, BTID’s management has expressed the desire to continue contributing to Bali’s economic growth within the tourism sector without neglecting or sacrificing environmental preservation.
