Finns Recreation Club on Jalan Pantai Berawa No. 15 , Canggu, Kuta Utara has gone silent as it has ceased operations as a recreation and sports club to reopen in two years as a fully-fledged resort.
As a result of the closure, 157 employees have opted to accept a buyout, ending, at least temporarily, their employment.
On 23 June 2025, a team from the Badung Regency Manpower Agency visited Finns Recreation Club to directly assess the situation and the welfare of its workforce. The task force was accompanied by a team of government-appointed industrial mediators, labor rights guardians, and extension personnel. Officials defended their visit as necessary to ensure the rights of workers dislocated by the closure and rebuilding are defended under established laws.
As reported by Balipost.com, Finns were represented during the meeting by a director of PT Bali Mitra International, I Wayan Wirawan, and the Club’s Human Resource Manager, I Kadek Krishna Gamentra. The Company’s representatives defended the workforce suspensions as a step taken only after careful consideration. While employees were offered new assignments, most elected to accept resignation with a payout to allow them to begin their own business.
The temporary closure affected a total of 285 workers. 94 chose to accept new assignments from Finns Recreation Club, with 34 moving to assignments at Finns Beach Club. The remaining 157 workers accepted formal termination, comprising 98 permanent workers, 16 pensioned workers, and 43 contract workers.
Manpower Officials have expressed the hope that once Finns Recreation Club reopens as a Resort, the company will prioritize re-employing the 157 terminated workers.
To clarify, the Finns Beach Club on Jalan Pantai Berawa No, 99 in Canggu remains open for business.
