Aviation History in Bal will be made on Thursday, 01 June 2023, when an Emirate Airline A380 Jumbo Wide-Body Aircraft lands in Bali.
Replacing an existing service using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, the Emirate A380 has 615 passenger seats configured across two classes of service. The largest double-decker passenger aircraft in terms of seat capacity and physical dimensions will operate as EK368 – departing Dubai (DXB) at 3;25 a.m. touching down in Denpasar (DPS) at 4:35 pm on 01 June 2023. The return flight EK369 leaves Bali at 7:40 pm, arriving in Dubai 45 minutes past midnight on Friday, 02 June 2023. All times listed are local times.
The Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, Adnan Kazim, lauded the new DBX-DPS service as reflecting the Airline’s mantra to “Fly Better” and its commitment to continually improve the services offered to the public. Adding: “The Emirates A380 is synonymous with our fly better promise and world-class products and services. We’re excited to offer our travelers the opportunity to experience its uniqueness and unmatched beauty on flights to and from Bali. We’ve been working closely with our partners at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to ensure our A380 operations will be seamless and smooth. We’d like to thank the authorities and our partners for all their support.”
Responding, Faik Fahmi, President Director of The Ngurah Rai Airport Authority, said: “The scheduled operations of the Airbus A380 in Indonesia will be a historic moment for Indonesian aviation and Angkasa Pura I. We welcome the Emirates A380 service and are honored to be the first airport operator in Indonesia to receive regular commercial flights with this aircraft. This results from well-established coordination, synergy, and cooperation between Angkasa Pura I as the airport operator, Emirates, and the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia as the regulator. We hope the A380 operations in Indonesia, especially Bali, will have an increasingly positive impact on the tourism and economy sectors and will further allow more opportunities for cooperation and investment in other industry sectors in Indonesia.”
Emirates first began non-stop daily service from Dubai to Bali in 2015, supplementing its existing scheduled service to Jakarta, where the Airline had operated since 1992. The U.A.E-based Airline has operated over 49,000 flights and carried over 9 million passengers between Indonesia and Dubai. Emirates currently serves Indonesia with 28 weekly flights to Bali and Jakarta. Through partnership agreements with Garuda Indonesia and Batik Air, Emirates offers extended connectivity to 29 Indonesian domestic destinations via the two gateway cities of Jakarta and Bali.
